These pages showcase some of the clothing I have made for myself and my lord in the SCA. To reduce the number of images per page, I have separated the clothing by garment type.

Italian Renn (this page)

Italian Renn Dress

This dress is based on the "Betrothal of Jason and Medea" painting by Morone that is shown below. The dress is made in 3 layers. The first layer is a white chemise. The chemise is made from cotton gauze, and is cut large enough to puff between the tie-on sleeves.

The second layer (underdress) is a light gold/cream brocade, made from curtains found at a thrift store. The underdress has a high waisted bodice that laces up the side. The skirt is pleated onto the bodice.

The overdress is made from wine colored cotton velvet. The overdress has a high waisted bodice, open in a "V" to the waist. The skirt of the overdress is split in front, and pleated onto the bodice. The overdress fastens at the front waist with a clasp.

The dress has tie-on sleeves in two sections, one section for the upper arm and one for the lower arm. The sleeves are made from the same fabric as the underdress. (When I took the photo, I could only find one sleeve!)
